Convoy of Hope Intern Team...
Convoy of Hope brought a team of interns to the Philippines last month for an extended time of ministry. We hosted them for 6 days, and they were truly a blessing as they ministered in our feeding centers, and to the people in the community. The following are some highlights of their time with us:
1st Day: The team taught songs to the children in the feeding, and then part of the team continued to help with the feeding, while others shared a devotion & prayer time with the youth of the church.
2nd Day: Part of the team set up a container garden at the church in Baseco, and planted tomatoes, eggplant and string beans, along with other varieties of vegetables. Others on the team helped us with an assessment of the area by visiting with families around the feeding. While gathering the information, they were able to get into the lives of the families, and also pray for them.
3rd Day: Members of the team shared testimonies, played guitar and sang, and then preached the message for the Sunday service at Christ's Commission Church, our partner church in Baseco, Manila. They prayed over the youth and members of the congregation. It was a great service!
4th Day: The team painted the interior of our partner church, Touch the Nations for Jesus, located in Paliparan, Dasmarinas, Cavite. They then took part in the feeding program and closed with a time of prayer for the pastor and the church.
5th Day: Traveled to our feeding in Pulido, Cavite, which is located in the house of one of the families in the feeding. The team ministered to the kids through songs, and had a great time just playing around with all of them! There aren't enough seats for the children in this feeding location, so the team began building benches for the kids to sit on. Some also helped prepare for the installation of a large tarp to cover the feeding area and protect it from sun and rain.
6th Day: We traveled back to the feeding in Pulido to help finish the benches and the installation of the tarp, along with taking part in the feeding program again. We had a great time with this team, and they were such a blessing to our feedings and the surrounding community. Thank you Convoy of Hope for sending them our way!
